Also post your ntp.conf file.
It's the one that comes with RH 8.0. With my fiddling, I've tried two things: adding 'server' lines for some local servers, and then 'restrict' lines for these as I think I need to explicitly enable access (RH's conf file defaults only allowing 127.0.0.1 I think).
