Hello,

Go to Maxtor website, download the diagnostic tools to create a boot
floppy, boot
the machine from the floppy and diagnose it. It may be able to be fixed
by their
tools. I've been lucky and saved a drive this way. Any funny clanking
noises
coming out of that box??
