The comps.xml file will give you the biggest clue of which rpms you
need. Look for <id>gnome-desktop</id> and <id>base-x</id>, then reading
between the XML you will be able to pick out packages to install.

You  may need to spend a bit of time solving dependencies, I once was
going to do the same, but a hard-drive failed and so a fresh install was
required.
