I've installed RedHat 8.0 and want to get my Promise fastTrack 100 RAID card
working. I went to Promise's site and noticed the precompiled drivers and
kernel for 7.2/7.3. I also notice they are now offering "Partial Open Source
drivers". I have tried to compile the drivers and it exists with numerous
errors.

Has anyone been able to successful compile a new kernel and the drivers
using these "Partial Open Source drivers"?

Check the previous posts "Hw RAID (Promise 20265 Fasttrak 100)" for one persons luck in getting Promise to e-mail them a re-compiled driver. Your best bet is to choose another product like one of the 3Ware cards. Adaptec appears to only have older drivers as well but I have never used one of their ATA RAID cards. Linux software RAID is also a great choice.
