I just downloaded the latest, and it has made no difference
(gaim-0.59.7-1).

It does the same thing, occasionally, with MSN messenger to me, and I
have a friend running the latest on RH73 with the same problem. In other
words: Not a RH8 problem.

Off to GAIM's site to find out who to report this to...
