I ran the commands below, but the result is quite far from giving the answer to my original question, isn't it? xfs is needed by XFree which is needed by some gnome components where Gnome, we are told, uses at least partially xft2. At the same time, xterm, coming inside XFree86-4.02, supports xft2, as Havoc just explained in the other thread. So, again, how to find what is still forcing the old font system to be there, without trying apps one by one? (of course, I'm no rpm guru, so if there is an rpm way to it, please tell) Ciao, Marco Fioretti #################################################################### [marco@polaris marco]$ rpm -q --whatrequires XFree86-xfs chkfontpath-1.9.6-3 XFree86-4.2.0-72 [marco@polaris marco]$ rpm -q --whatrequires chkfontpath urw-fonts-2.0-26 [marco@polaris marco]$ rpm -q --whatrequires XFree86 libgnomeprint-1.116.0-2 XFree86-tools-4.2.0-72 XFree86-twm-4.2.0-72 xinitrc-3.31-1 XFree86-xdm-4.2.0-72 Xtest-2.0-1 gnome-print-0.35-8 openoffice-1.0.1-8 gtkglarea-1.2.2-13 blackbox-0.65.0-fr2 -- Psyche-list mailing list Psyche-list@redhat.com https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/psyche-list
