The manufacturer (of the Ethernet card at least) is not supporting it
anymore, and told me almost explicitly that they cannot help me right
now with Linux. Adaptec would be probably more supportive, but the
point is that both cards were working just fine on that laptop since
Red Hat 4.0 Never gave any problem. As I understand it, this means
that:
	I copied some files badly from 7.2 to 8.0 (but _which_ ones
                 could cause that sort of messages?)
or

	something changed in the PCMCIA/IRQ management from 7.x to 8.0,
        but, again, what?

I have looked into the PCMCIA an LAPTOP howtos, but I must confess
that this particular issue (= how pcmcia cards are managed in Linux
and by which entity) is quite difficult for me to understand.

Any other clues, or specific requests to post some config files?
