Adaptec would be probably more supportive, but the point is that both cards were working just fine on that laptop since Red Hat 4.0 Never gave any problem. As I understand it, this means that: I copied some files badly from 7.2 to 8.0 (but _which_ ones could cause that sort of messages?) or something changed in the PCMCIA/IRQ management from 7.x to 8.0, but, again, what? I have looked into the PCMCIA an LAPTOP howtos, but I must confess that this particular issue (= how pcmcia cards are managed in Linux and by which entity) is quite difficult for me to understand.
