Try uninstalling Galeon and all your Mozilla packages, and to be safe, do an 'rm -fr /usr/lib/mozilla*' Then reinstall galeon and the moz packages, and do NOT NOT NOT run Galeon as root. (what're you doing running a browser as root, anyhow? :-) This fixed that problem for me.
