No!

ln -s /etc/init.d/<name> /etc/rc?.d/S??<name>

That would work (and be correct). So would using chkconfig (--help or
manpage) or ntsysv (has a manpage, but it's so easily understood I'm not
sure why).

The K??<name> is supposed to be used to shut the process down when
leaving a runlevel.
