In other words, it may be better to > ask the people that develop XMMS. FWIW, I have this same problem using Sawfish (instead of Metacity). I did not have this problem in RH7.3 Sticky and Always-On-Top do not work. Neither does "Raising" XMMS to the "Upper Layer" in the Sawfish window menu.
