My file-nr went from: 1968 742 19660 to : 2338 0 19660 and as soon as I hit Quit: 2338 1131 19660 The middle number is supposed to be the number of open files, but it sure looks like it is the number of free files. ulimit -n shows that the maximum number of open files should be 1024. I increased it to 2048, but it did not seem to make a difference. You should enter this in bugzilla.redhat.com.
