I've since looked on bugzilla and found a couple of identical traces. The reports were marked as new and not yet assigned. My sys specs: Red Hat Linux release 8.0 (Psyche), Kernel 2.4.18-17.8.0 I got this trace by executing from the command line. Same result whether logged in as user and su'd or logged in as root. Executing from the menu or command line, I get a progress meter showing packages read and then....poof! Just disappears. Nothing else going on in the machine.
