Hi,

I have installed the flash player 6.0 beta, by hands. Just copy the
files you found untarring the package in the mozilla plugins directory,
_without_ deleting any xpti.dat (just remove all your previous flash
files).

This works fine for me.

I don't know what xpti.dat does, but if it's there, there should be a
reason!
