Create Live! Platinum not installed by default

Hello again,

I didn't want to include this with my problem with my Tulip card not being
recognised at installation time, although this is a similar problem.

Like the tulip network cards, I have not heard anyone else complaining that
their Creative Live! card will not install automatically with RedHat 8.0, but
mine won't. RedHat 7.3 ignored it completely, but 8.0 detects it and then
disables it. Very strange!

As with the NIC, SuSE 7.2 & 8.0 and Mandrake 9.0 all install it without
prompting.

If I add an alias into /etc/modules.conf ("alias sound emu10k1") then it works
fine after I modprobe "sound" or "emu10k1".

Does anyone else get this problem?
Why is it not detected?

Also, how can I make RedHat load this at startup? Every time I boot, I have
to "/sbin/modprobe sound" to get any audio!

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Ryan.
