I looked through the CVS code for the applet. It looks
like they pulled it out, probably in the GNOME-2 porting.
It was an option in 1.4. I still use it in Solaris, and
abot shows "Mini-Commander Applet 1.4.0.1" and it has the
show date/time options, and they work. I guess the docs
didn't get updated.
