And so I did. :o) net-snmp is _not_ depending on db2 nor on db1. Because it depends on /usr/lib/libdb.so.2 and after installing my db1-package, you have that File and dependencies are solved.... ftp://linux-kernel.at/packages/Build_on_RedHat-8.0-Psyche/ Here you'll find SRPMS and RPMS. (Currently db1 and net-snmp). There is also a directory with packages build on Valhalla. Those SRPMS should still compile without complaining - I guess... And most of the RPMS (if not older than those of Psyche or depending on some glibc...) will also work fine....
