Boot problem after install

I just replaced my 7.3 installation with 8.0. The only thing that I have
changed is I made a seperate /boot partition. After grub loads I get Error
28: not enough memory or something to that effect. I don't have my notes in
front of me and am not at home right now. I just thought someone may have a
simple solution.

My linux partitions are /boot, /, and /
I have 512 MB of ram on an MSI K7N420 nforce board
Swap is 1.5GB
System is Dual boot with Windows XP.

I have a very similar setup at work (different motherboard and less ram) and
everything works fine.

Any help is appreciated.
