After the latest xfree86 binaries installation,
i tried to configure using "xf86cfg".

I could see the video card which i am using i.e. intel D845. AFter configuration, when i started X using startx, i get only the terminal window, not the Gnome or kde.
Kindly let me know what needs to be done to get the
gnome or kde desktop. I have a complete installation,
with gnome & kde desktop.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
