Please read David's announcement below, and if you've filed bug reports in XFree86 bugzilla, follow up on them. -- Mike A. Harris ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Fri, 19 Dec 2003 12:44:59 -0500 From: David Dawes <dawes@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: devel@xxxxxxxxxxx Reply-To: devel@xxxxxxxxxxx Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Subject: XFree86 4.4.0 RC2 The second release candidate for XFree86 4.4.0 (aka 4.3.99.902) was tagged last night. Source and patches can be found currently at <http://www.xfree86.org/develsnaps/>. The download area at <ftp://ftp.xfree86.org/pub/XFree86/snapshots/4.3.99.902/> will be populated over the next few days (the source is there now, and binaries will follow). The release candidates need to get as much testing as possible. Problems should be reported here <devel@xxxxxxxxxxx>. If you have any open bugs in our bugzilla, you need to verify whether or not they are still valid against this release candidate. Send a note here for bugs that are confirmed to still be a problem, and close ones that you confirm are fixed. The latest update to our xtest package (version 4.0.2) can be found at <ftp://ftp.xfree86.org/pub/XFree86/xtest/>. For information about how to build and run it, see the test/xsuite/NOTES.xf86 file. Build and run scripts are provided to make this easier. The problem with 4.4RC1 that caused an xtest run to put the server into an infinite loop is fixed in 4.4RC2, so it should be possible to run xtest to completion now. Problems running xtest, as well as "FAILS" in the xtest run report should be posted here.
