Odd occurence with Screen alignment

I recently installed Red hat 9 on a Del Inspiron 8100 laptop, with a
Geforce2 Go graphics card. Whenever the screen turns off (ie when you
close the lid, or when it is turned off by the BIOS timeout settings)
then back on, the screen is misaligned. Meaning that the top half is on
the bottom, and the bottom half on the top and there is no mouse cursor.

The Resolution is set to 1600x1200 and the screen is set to use the
settings for a 1600x1200 dell laptop screen.

Any advice would be appreciated.
