Exactly the same way you would normally do an upgrade, only add 
--oldpackage to the rpm commandline.

Also note that there have been some packaging changes such as 
xterm being separated out, which will need to be manually 
resolved if going back to earlier packaging.

ie: rpm -e xterm

There may be other issues, but that is the only one I can think 
of.
