Yep, download the set of RPMs from a previous version-release 
into a directory alone and do:

rpm -Uvh --oldpackage XFree86*.i386.rpm

Keep in mind that no testing is done on downgrading of packages, 
so it is possible that a downgrade could fail or have problems if 
something goes awry.  That said, it generally works ok most of 
the time, and I try to keep it that way.  Problems that do arise, 
generally aren't to difficult to fix up.
