it should work. you might want to check the xpert ML archive at xfree86.org. try setting "crt_screen" to "false" or I think there may even be an option for "dfp" "true" or something like that. the output of lspci has nothing to do with what adapters X supports. lspci just lists all PCI devices. As far as I know, it uses a separate database of PCI ID's than X uses.
