Here's an image that shows the problem (although often it looks much worse): http://capital2.capital.edu/faculty/dreed/xclock.png The "glitch" is between the 12 and the 1. I haven't noticed if it happens all the time (but I assume it does) since an expose event causes a redraw which "fixes it". Dave
