Looks to me your root filesystem's not labelled any more.

Boot your rescue disk and check with e2label:
[root@gateway log]# e2label /dev/hda1
/boot
[root@gateway log]# e2label /dev/hda2
/

You can relabel a partition:
e2label /dev/hda1 /boot


Or you can change your /detc/fstab to reflect the device names.
