Howdy, I've put together newer tcpdump-3.7.1 rpm's for being able to capture raw packages from prism2 (wlan) card too etc. Here is the story :) %changelog * Wed Jul 03 2002 Riku Meskanen <mesrik@cc.jyu.fi> - started with tcpdump-3.6.2-14.src.rpm from rawhide - upgraded libpcap to 0.7.1 and tcpdump-3.7.1 - patch5: tcpdump-3.6.2-tcpslice-time, fine - patch7: tcpdump-3.6.2-redhat, patch path problem, fixed new 3.7.1 - patch50: libpcap-shared.patch, fine - patch51: tcpdump-3.6.2-purge, obsolete feature already in libpcap-0.7.1 - patch52: new patch from http://www.shaftnet.org/%7Epizza/software/ to enable prism2 raw dumps - patch6: tcpdump-3.6.2-usageman, path + out of sync, fixed new 3.7.1 - patch8: tcpdump-3.6.1-droproot2, path + out of sync, fixed new 3.7.1 - patch9: tcpdump-3.6.1-smb, obsolete feature already in tcpdump-3.7.1 - patch10: tcpdump-3.6.1-portnumbers, path&man pg out of sync, fixed new 3.7.1 - patch11: tcpdump-3.6.1-non-promisc-default, path + man pg, fixed new 3.7.1 - patch12: tcpdump-3.6.2-afsprinting, obsolete feat already in 3.7.1 - patch13: tcpdump-3.6.2-dropdefault, path fixed, new 3.7.1 - patch14: tcpdump-3.6.2-snaplen, obsolete feat already in 3.7.1 - patch100: tcpdump-3.6.2-config, rewrote this to patch acconfig.h and configure.in instead of just configure, added aclocal and uncommennted autoconf on %build - rest patches seem to be ok as arpwatch and tcpslice was not upgraded The packages can be found from http://people.jyu.fi/~mesrik/tmp/tcpdump if anyone else would like to see or give it a try. It seems to function after few short tests as expected. And as seen from above changelog it includes all relevant patches from std Red Hat tcpdump (drops privileges etc). :-) riku ps.
