Is it a good idea? > Its not so much a bad idea so much as it is a situation in which neither repository has made an EL6 official release so if you're going to run in production it would often be advised to wait for a stable launch. Though I will say that the EPEL repo is quite stable at this point and the release date and processes are just currently being decided on.
