The firewall shouldn't have to allow X connections if he's tunneling back
through SSH...that's one of the main points of SSH tunneling.
Additionally, the display variable appears to have been set, as evidenced
by the "localhost:0.0" error.

One thing to check on the remote system, in /etc/ssh/sshd_config, is for
the presence of:

X11Forwarding yes

in order to ensure that the SSH daemon is allowing X11 forwarding.  The
default setting is "no".  If it is not set, then Joy would need to modify
the sshd_config and then restart sshd (or have both done for him by the
remote server's admin).

Also, OpenSSH's default offset is 10, rather than 0...so, usually, the
display variable would read as "localhost:10.0" rather than
"localhost:0.0"...that may need to be investigated in the sshd_config, as
well.
