LVM or LVM2??

Hi

I just installed RHEL V5.4 on a IBM DS6000 ( SAN boot ) with multipath.

My /boot and / fileystems are ext3 while rest are on physical LVM partition .

My question is that LVM which comes with RHEL V5.4 and onwards is LVM2 or simple LVM?
If LVM2 , then should i add filter lines related to /device/mapper in lvm.conf file or not ? Any ideas?

Regards
