Apparently the server doesn't need to receive mail, thus sendmail
doesn't need to be running and hence shouldn't be listening on a port.

Your Sendmail server listing on localhost

Comment out Daemon Option line in Sendmail.mc and rebuild the
Sendmail.cf

and check the your server should listen your IP address

to check use the below command

# netstat -an | grep smtp
