I have been asked to setup a nightly download of files and I have to use ftps. It has to be ftps and not sftp as the place from where I download the files won't accept sftp connections - they told me it must be ftps. Now I can already download with and ftp script, but when this is done for real (quite soon!) then it has to be done securely. I am doing this on a server running Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4. Can someone tell me where I can get ftps, or how to enable another piece of software to use the ftps protocol? (Looking about I see that lftp is already on the machine[as is sftp] and the man page for lftp says that it supports the ftps protocol if it is compiled with the openssl library) But I don't know how to make lftp use the ftps protocol or how I would check that it is using the ftps protocol.
