I am not an expert in oracle. I am not sure if you are concerned about the performance you expect if you run oracle on a VM compared with the same when you run it on a physical machine. Definitely you can run Oracle apps on a VM ( linux/windows) . it also depends upon how you allocate the resources for your VM.
