If you're not using IPv6, you can disable it by adding the following to
'/etc/modprobe.conf':

# Disable IPv6
alias net-pf-10 off

(This works for RHEL 4.x boxes, should work for 5.x as well)

You'll have to restart networking & related services, or simply bounce the
box.

Then take another look at netstat.
