[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi Techies
I hope atleast one of you solve my problem.
Problem is like , here we have HP server and RHEL 4.4 is running on it and Documents are scanned and images are uploaded on this server and to view the documens from client, jts service should be enabled on the server else documents stop showing. Now problem is like - jts service stops automatically anytime, like say in 4-5 hours or sometime 10 hours and so on.And we have to manually start the service to enable documents viewing. There is no crons running and no such trace in logs about this service to stop.

Please help.

Thanks & Regards

P.Batra

Hello list.
I was setup a pptp server on RHEL 5.3 with Active Directory domain and I
need to configure a static ip for users.
Above the example.
User ELUCID+varaujo will always connect with 192.168.10.1 and
User ELUCID+plantao will always connect with 192.168.10.5.

Someone know if it's possible to do?

Thank you.

Can someone tell me if these two sendmail packages are essentially the
same? I ran an SRR provided by DISA and was advised to upgrade Sendmail
to 8.14.1. However, Redhat site does not even list it. I suspect the
finding is a false-positive and whatever vulnerabilities/patches in
8.14.1 are actually included in RHEL 5.3 sendmail.

Can someone please confirm and tell me where this is documented?

Thank you,

Paul W.

It is not hard to find a ldap cracker (John The Ripper support LDAP
password cracking) the problem is to find or to build a nice and big
passwords dictionary.

Manuel.

My idea about building this nice and big password dictionary is that we build
a modified character permutation list. The modification is based on your
users' password habit. For example, if you know the probability they only use
alphanumerics is very small, and that they use alphanumerics plus 2 or 3
punctuation marks is very high, try that list first. Our users, according to my observation, use alphanumerics plus @, !, and $, (very rarely plus any t
ype of bracket, etc). I have a very simple Perl script to do this. See
http://yong321.freeshell.org/oranotes/PasswordRetrieval.txt

That article is for retrieving Oracle passwords on users' request. But the
idea is the same.

I have a requirement to change non-user accounts (i.e avahi) passwords.
Will this pose a problem to the avahi daemon, for example?

Those accounts typically don't have passwords... and they're unable to log in. Why do you need to change them?
