Hmmm... what kernel are you running? In the VMWare Best Practices, they talk
about 2.6 having a *much* higher clock tick - something like 1k, instead of
100... sorry, don't remember - and recommend some additional kernel parameters
to add to the grub boot line. Again, check that Best Practices.
