SV: support for multi-core processors

I running a oraclecluster on RHEL 4.7 / DL 580 whit totaly amount of 24 cores, (4cpus 6 cores each) And it works fine! (LargeSMP kernel)

Thanks for the info.  We have several dual-core servers running RedHat 4 and
5 without issue, but I'm looking to spec out a new database server and wanted to be sure quad core cpu's would work without issue.

	The multiple cores just appear like multiple processors.  SMP support has been around since the earliest Linux kernels, I'm pretty sure.
I think even back in the pre-Enterprise era (RedHat 6,7,8,9) there was support for SMP.
