Umm, what has UPS info got to do with Oracle's inability to write to its control file? -----Original Message----- From: redhat-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:redhat-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of mark Sent: Friday, 13 March 2009 1:25 p.m. To: General Red Hat Linux discussion list Subject: Re: Root filesystem went Read- only mode Santosh Kumar wrote: > Hope you are doing well. > > Root filesystem went Read- only mode on production server. The control file error is that you've got the Oracle d/b on the SAN, and the server's trying to write to the SAN, which is, you say, in r/o mode. This is unlikely to be the SAN, IMO; I would really like to know things like whether all your servers are on a UPS, and each have dual power supplies, *each* power supply on different circuits, NOT plugged into the same one. mark -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:redhat-list-request@xxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list ========================================================== For more information on the Television New Zealand Group, visit us online at tvnz.co.nz ========================================================== CAUTION: This e-mail and any attachment(s) contain information that is intended to be read only by the named recipient(s).
