some remarks :
1) I recommend you installing 8GB by changing it to 2GB all should be the same or at least in pairs 2) have you done the necessary bios updates, intel normally provides iso update cd's
3) press F2 to go into the bios, does it recognize 7GB
4) check grub, there are some issues regarding grub limiting the kernel to only see 3.3GB
