Gentlemen!
Ever wanted to have a nice, complete list of the installed RPM packages
to show to your boss?
With package name, version, release, verification status and time of
compilation in a
single line, like this?
bind-utils : 9.3.4 10.P1.el5 ........ Tue 06
Jan 2009 02:10:11 PM CET
binutils : 2.17.50.0.6 9.el5 ........ Wed 29
Oct 2008 10:03:17 PM CET
bison : 2.3 2.1 ........ Wed 12
Jul 2006 09:15:46 AM CEST
bitmap-fonts : 0.3 5.1.1 ........ Wed 12
Jul 2006 09:14:22 AM CEST
bitstream-vera-fonts : 1.10 7 ........ Fri 08
Sep 2006 05:47:48 PM CEST
bluez-gnome : 0.5 5.fc6 ........ Wed 18
Oct 2006 04:22:58 PM CEST
bluez-hcidump : 1.32 1 ........ Tue 03
Oct 2006 12:22:58 AM CEST
Now you can. I have put together a simple Perl script to create said
list on all of our systems.
Nothing to get too excited over, but as it might be of some use to
someone other than me, I put it up for grabs here:
http://public.m-plify.net/rpm/rpmsnap.pl
Have a gander (or not, as the case may be). Or possibly you may know
already of a better program that
does the same? If so, please let me know.
Best regards,
