RH5 kernel slower than RH4 kernel ?

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Our software runs on multiple platforms:
Solaris 9, Solaris 10, RH 4, RH5, Monta Vista, SLES, etc.

We have a PCI board that we make that our software uses.
( Therefore, we have a driver in the kernel. )

We have observed that the RH5 platform is slower than the
RH4 platform when we run our performance test.
Our test answers the question:
How many messages per second can be transferred between the
host and the board using DMA?
( for reference, on RH4 we can achieve 31720, but on
RH5 we can only achieve 31052. )

Has anyone else observed a degradation in RH5 ( 64 bit ) when
compared to RH4 ?

Does anyone know if there are any bugzilla reports related to this topic

of lesser performance ?
