Cisco and Linux VPN clients?

Anyone know if/when Cisco will release an official updated client for the latest Linux kernel (2.6.24)? I'm keeping my machines that use the VPN client at 2.6.24 until Cisco produces an official fix.

I know there are third-party patches, but I won't touch them. I'll only trust it from the source.

Is the actual problem a change in the kernel structure that the client can't handle, and such change will remain permanent, or is the problem an anomaly in the 2.6.24 version and newer kernels will fix the problem?

Thanks for any insight.

Scott
