I am trying to sync up a few RH Linux clients to a Solaris NTP Server. The Solaris server gets it's time from a Windows Domain Controller, and it seems to sync up fine. The Linux clients, however, won't sync. On the client, I get the following results: #ntpstat unsychronised time server re-starting polling server every 64 s ntpq> peers remote refid st t when poll reach delay offset jitter ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 192.168.40.41 {windowsdcip} 2 u 37 64 0377 0,208 9.661 1.782 ntpq> associations ind assID status conf reach auth condition last_event cnt --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 41500 9034 yes yes none reject reachable 3 #date Wed Jun 18 16:01:24 UTC 2008 #more /etc/ntp.conf server 192.168.40.41 driftfile /var/lib/ntp/drift #ntpq>rv assID=0 status=c011 sync_alarm, sync_unspec, 1 event, event_restart, version="ntpd 4.2.0a@xxxxxxxx Tue Oct 5 04:11:32 EDT 2006 (1)"?, processor="i686", system="Linux/2.6.9-67.0.1.ELsmp", leap=11, stratum=16, precision=15, rootdelay=0.000, rootdispersion=53.280, peer=0, refid=INIT, reftime=00000000.00000000 Thu Feb 7 2036 6:28:16.000, poll=6, clock=0xcc03a8c3.0e2584f4, state=1, offset-0.000, frequency=0.000, noise=0.031, jitter=0.031, stability=0.000 On the Solaris server, I get the following stats: #date Wed Jun 18 11:57;11 EDT 2008 #ntptrace localhost: stratum 2, offset 0.000041, [servername.domain]: stratum 1, offset 0.007950, sync distance 10.755, refid 'LOCL' #more /etc/inet/ntp.conf server [ip address] broadcast 224.0.1.1 ttl 4 enable auth monitor driftfile /etc/ntp.drift statsdir /var/ntp/ntpstats ntpq> peers remote refid st t when poll reach delay offset jitter ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #[windowsdc] .LOCL. 1 u 106 256 377 1.46 7.916 9.11 224.0.1.1 0.0.0.0 16 - - 64 0 0.00 0.00 16000.0 Any help would be appreciated. -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:redhat-list-request@xxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
