Hi guys,
I have over than 200 RHEL WS4 workstation in the war house.
The home is automount as follows:
more /etc/auto.home
* -rw server:/vol/home/&
I noticed that some workstations starts to mount absent mount points.
May 9 08:29:51 client automount[31782]: failed to mount /home/.hidden
May 9 08:29:52 client automount[13077]: mount(nfs): nfs: mount failure
server:/vol/home/.hidden on /home/.hidden
May 9 13:29:03 client automount[13075]: failed to mount /home/tools.lnx86
May 9 13:29:04 client automount[13077]: mount(nfs): nfs: mount failure
server:/vol/home/tools.lnx86 on /home/tools.lnx86
Debugging a client I detected the process /usr/libexec/gam_server is
responsible to this access. Executing a kill -HUP stop the automount to
mount these mount points.
Have someone seen this before?
There isn't any reason to gam_server mount it. It is also aleatory...
Any tip? Can I safety disable the server? Which process does start it?
cheers,
