Johan Booysen <mailto:johan@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> scribbled on Monday, October 22, 2007 10:09 AM: Not so sure about that, as I've noticed that CentOS seems to have more device support. Without going into specifics, I've managed to install CentOS a while ago in VMWare server using virtual scsi-drives that RHEL didn't cope with at the time. Dito for some physical machines. Maybe CentOS has more user-centric repos available than RHEL does, which could account for more hw-support or something to that effect. I'm speculating heavily now though. 8-) Give it a go though, it can't more than fail (it's free as well, so why hold back, after all it's a lab-machine right?), and in that case at least you'll know it doesn't work with CentOS and will have a reference for the future. Only because Oracale isn't certified for CentOS doesn't mean it won't run. 8-) > I don't think management over here will go for CentOS.
