Ah! (I use IceWM - extremely lightweight, and it has nice little touches, like the system monitors in the taskbar.)

For IceWM, all you need to do is edit ~/.icewm/menu, and/or the others in there. If you need more of an example than what's in there, say so, and when I'm back home, tonight, I can mail you a snippet of my own. I don't have it here to reference, but I believe the syntax is <menuname> <icon> <full command path>.

I haven't worked with gnome, but I *think* you can edit KDE's menus, down under ~/.kde/share, but I'm not sure where.
