RE: how to check service/daemon dependancies

Thank you for the quick replies.

While this info is very help, I was looking more about daemon dependencies
specifically.

For instance, how do I list what other daemons are dependant on the daemon
HTTPD running?

In Windows and Solaris, it's quick and easy. But still, I can't find the
answer for Red Hat.

Thank you for any help you might have.

Angie

rpm -q <package-name> --what-requires (I think that's the correct syntax)
will show what the dependencies of the package is.

In RHEL 5 you can do yum deplist <pkg_name>, I think that you can also do
rpm --deps with some version of rpm.

As far as RHEL 4, I am not sure.
