Take a look at mkcdrec. It has worked for me.

Subject: Linux image backup on DVD

Hi,

I'd like to have a backup of my Linux RHEL4 OS on DVD in either ISO format or whatever so that if the system crashes one day, I can be able to restore it from the DVD.

Could anyone share the experience please ? Thanks

QN
