My configuration procedure is :

1. Entry in /etc/sysconfig/network
NISDOMAIN=domainname.com

2. Entry in /var/yp/securenets
#cat /var/yp/securenets
255.255.255.255         127.0.0.1
255.255.255.0           192.168.0.0

3. #service portmap status
portmap (pid 2756) is running...

4. service ypserv start
Starting YP server services:                               [  OK  ]

5. Entry in /var/yp/Makefile
.............
all:  passwd group hosts rpc services netid protocols mail
..............

6.To generate NIS maps
#/usr/lib/yp/ypinit -m

7. service yppasswdd start
8. service ypxfrd start

9. The output of

the entry in  /etc/nsswitch.conf
passwd:     nis files
shadow:     nis files
group:      nis files

Now at the client end I used authconfig
and the errors are
#authconfig
Stopping portmap:                                          [  OK  ]
Starting portmap:                                          [  OK  ]
setsebool:  SELinux is disabled.
Binding to the NIS domain:                                 [  OK  ]
Listening for an NIS domain server...

It wait long at the last line.
Finally failed
the err message at /var/log/messages
Dec 29 11:22:04 station3 ypbind: ypbind shutdown failed

The same setting work with other server.
