/sbin/fdisk /dev/<disk device> p (that's lowercase) - this will show the partition tables. q (to quit fdisk) df will give sizes as well.You can also look in /var/log/messages... but if you have a lot of messages, you may need to go to a previous one - you'll have to find the one with the last time you booted.
