Rupesh, The way I see it, there are a number of possibilities as to why you couldn't boot from the USB drive: 1) You installed GRUB on the laptop's internal drive and GRUB hasn't got the USB drivers to see the USB disk. 2) You are not booting from the USB disk (as set in the BIOS). 3) You are trying to boot from the USB disk as set in the BIOS, but you haven't got a boot sector set up on the USB disk (possibly because of 1)) and so the system thinks that there is no boot media on the external drive. What options are you using for the BIOS and where is GRUB installed?
